How to Get IRS Tax Id Number for New Business

New business owners may come across a section on forms requesting a tax ID number, Federal Tax Identification number or Employer Identification (EIN). This number is assigned to businesses by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and is unique to each. It serves as official identification of the business to regulatory agencies.
